♦ Alternative Fuels and Energy Efficiency

HK Motors will build the world’s most efficient cars and trucks by using compressed natural gas (CNG) as the primary fuel. Natural gas contains 80% hydrogen, and is the world’s most clean-burning fossil fuel. As a gaseous material, natural gas can mix evenly into the air, so it burns completely and carbon-free, and can reach the highest efficiency. In terms of total wheel-to-wheels consumption, natural gas vehicles are 9 times as efficient as electric vehicles.

Natural gas is the cleanest of all alternative fuels, and has less carbon per unit of energy than any other fossil fuel. By using natural gas instead of oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions will be reduced by 20%, carbon monoxide (CO) by 70-90%, non-methane organic gas (NMOG) by 87%; hydrocarbons by 50%; and nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 87%.
